| Data Processing System Merger | As you are probably aware, on October 1, 2019, South Florida Federal Credit Union and Guardians Credit Union became one credit union. Accounts were officially merged into Guardians Credit Union's data processing system effective June 1, 2020. Below please find a list of frequently asked questions to assist you during this transition.
1. Will I have a new account number? You will have a revised account number. Your account will lead with "88" and then zeros followed by your existing number to a length of nine. For example, if your account number is 12345, your new number will be 880012345. As another example, if your account number is 1234567, your new number will be 881234567.
2. What if I have printed checks, direct deposit or automatic deductions set up for my account? And, what about the routing and transit number? Printed checks, direct deposits or automatic deductions will still be processed. South Florida Federal Credit Union's old routing and transit number will be recognized through September 30, 2020. Please note Guardians Credit Union's routing and transit number is 267083323. After June 1, you should begin notifying your employer and merchants authorized to take money out of your account of the routing and transit number change and new account number. Please call us at (800) 834-3495 to obtain the correct checking account number for these transactions.
3. If I currently use online banking, how do I now access my account? Guardians One Online Banking is now your new online banking platform. To enroll, visit Guardians One Online Banking and select the Sign Up Now link to get started. If you require assistance, please call us at (800) 834-3495.
4. What will happen to my credit card? Debit card? Will they both still work? Credit cards will continue to work. Debit cards were re-issued prior to June 1. If you previously opted out from Reg E transactions (authorization under our Courtesy Pay Program to pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit card transactions), you will remain opted out. If you opted in, you will remain opted in.
5. Does my debit card PIN stay the same? You will need a new PIN for your new debit card. Please call 1-800-992-3808 to set up your PIN.
6. Can I still access my credit card online? To access your MasterCard online, please visit: http://southfloridafcu.com/mastercard. If you have not done so in the past, you will need to register your account and complete the authentication process. Upon login, you may view your transaction history and make payments.
7. Can I still access MARS Telephone Banking? CUSERVE is the new telephone banking system. To access CUSERVE, please call (800) 834-3495 and select option 1. Enter your new account number and the last four digits of the primary account holder's social security number as the password.
8. Can I view my current balance at ATMs? While some ATMs have a balance inquiry option, not every machine will offer this. However, once a transaction has been completed at an ATM, you will receive a receipt with your balance. Additionally, account balances are also available by accessing Guardians One Online Banking or CUSERVE.
9. If I had a distribution set up on my account, will that transfer over? Distributions will need to be set up in the new system. After your first payroll hits your new account, please call us at (800) 834-3495 with the information.
